A Journey With A Hope with Her Synopsis

On Friday, September 6, 2019, 14-year-old Jackline Chepngeno went to school for the last time. Events that started in her English class led to an unimaginable tragedy.

What happened to Jackline that day? And how do we stop it from happening again?

This is Jackline’s story.

About the Filmmaker

Amelie Truffert and Paul Drawbridge are first time film makers. Researchers by trade, they heard about Jackline’s story whilst living in Kenya and decided to make a documentary to help break the cycle of shame of menstruation

More From the Filmmaker

Talk about menstruation — your periods — openly! Talking removes the shame. Call your period your period, don’t use euphemisms. This will help young girls realize that there is no shame when saying “I have my period”. Don’t apologize for having your period. It’s an amazing natural event that should be celebrated.
