Hide and Seek Synopsis

The problem of open defecation is widespread in India and it directly affects the lives of women and girls in rural and suburban spaces. Nine-year-old Bhuri faces the embarrassment, teasing, and harassment that comes with defecating in the open, and tries to overcome this daily trial.

 

About the Filmmakers

Abhishek Verma is an independent animator, filmmaker, and communication designer. He is a Young India Fellow of 2017-18 and based in New Delhi. He has graduated from the Industrial Design Center, Indian Institute of Bombay, in 2014, with a specialization in communication and animation film design. He holds a particular interest in typography, experimental narrative, traditional animation, screenwriting, and illustration.

He is working on feature animation project named Oh my Dog!. This film talks about the recovery state from dystopia and importance of creating a new world space, with or without God.
