Synopsis

Menna Youssef is a young, single, Egyptian-American, Muslim woman earning her PhD in engineering, which frustrates her meddlesome auntie who just wants to see Menna settle down.

Menna was an official selection of the 2011 WVN Online Film Festival.

About the Filmmaker

Ashley Zahorian is a filmmaker, artist, scholar, and entrepreneur. She works in both creative and commercial media and is the president of Something Like Real Pictures, LLC.

Recently, she directed a 1920s period piece, Fallen, and co-directed a 16mm film short called Journey’s End. A 2010 production, Menna, was just screened at The Reel Dame Film Festival in Richmond in April 2011.

Currently she is directing The Best Gift, Regent University’s first endowed animated film, and in pre-production for two upcoming feature films.
