More From the Filmmakers
Audre Lorde said, “We have been raised to fear the yes within ourselves, our deepest cravings. For the demands of our released expectations lead us inevitably into actions which will help bring our lives into accordance with our needs, our knowledge, our desires. And the fear of our deepest cravings keeps them suspect, keeps us docile and loyal and obedient, and leads us to settle for or accept many facets of our oppression as women.”
The journey in reclaiming our personal power as women is resistance against a patriarchal apparatus that seeks to profit over the hyper-sexualization and commodification of femme bodies. To rebel against gender norms and to fully embody our sexual desires becomes revolutionary as we re-imagine systems where there is a place for pleasure. If this film is both informative and true to the kind of voice women want to see in the media I will have felt successful. We hope this film is a part of a collection of feminist voices in a new wave of media that liberates women.
