More From the Filmmaker

I was inspired by my grandmother, who I’ve always loved and still do. This film has a particular set up, which is the countryside of South Korea. Even though the location is unfamiliar to people who don’t live in South Korea, I wanted them to be attached to the emotional bond and relationship in the film. This film is about an ordinary day shared between a grandmother and a granddaughter. It’s not particularly about women’s rights, but, women in this film have their own stories and a strong emotional bond between them.
