Synopsis

Solace in Amal tells the story of Elhassania, a young woman who hopes to someday open her own business to support her family. Though shy and hesitant at first, Elhassania gains confidence through the Amal Women’s Training Center and Moroccan Restaurant, a non-profit organization In Morocco. Amal helps disadvantaged women gain work experience while rediscovering themselves, learning about their rights as women, and finding a path to success.

About the Filmmaker

Angel Rivera graduated with a BA in Film and Media Arts from The University of Tampa in Florida (2016). He has a focus on cinematography and editing, but is proficient in all aspects of the film process from pre- to post-production.
