These deep-rooted, gender-based stereotypes are the reason that women’s rights continue to stagnate and regress in many parts of the world.
At Women’s Voices Now, we use the medium of film to amplify women’s and girls’ voices. Women and girls deserve to tell their own stories and lived experiences. Film offers an easy way to reach wide audiences and raise awareness on specific issues pertaining to women’s rights. Film also has the unique ability to generate empathy amongst viewers, that has the potential to challenge stereotypes and limiting beliefs.
