About the Film:
After the mysterious death of her aunt Neirud, a filmmaker pieces together her aunt’s enigmatic life as a wrestler in an underground all-female circus troupe in 1960s-80s Brazil. Through the investigation of Neirud’s controversial ring persona, Gorilla Woman, the film uncovers a fascinating story of race, identity, and queer life.
